It’s amazing to know that in soccer coaching drills, a coach may overlook the passing drills. Passing is an integral part of soccer and without mastering this skill; your team can hardly expect to win matches. Youth soccer drills which include different games and events are more helpful in bettering the passing skills of the boys.
Coach them on primary skills: Start with the basics first. Make two teams out of one with a separate ball to each team. Tell them to practice passing the ball within themselves.
The idea is to identify each player’s strengths and weaknesses. At the same time, it will also reflect the ability that each player has in passing the ball. It allows you to have an easy assessment of every team member’s development.
The Moving Circle: There are a lot of games that help players learn effective passing. In one soccer coaching drill, all members of the team make a circle with two of them inside the circle.
Now players creating the circle start throwing the ball to each other and those inside will try and capture the ball. The one who is able to successfully intercept the ball is replaced by the player outside the circle and the game continues. Through soccer practice drills like these, players learn in an entertaining and motivating atmosphere.
